Shwe Yan Pyay is a famous teak wood monastery located near Inle Lake. It is used, among other things, for school lessons for novice monks. Usually, children and older boys enter the monastery for one month a year, after the end of the school period and then return to their families and repeat the same path the following year.

It is an experience that almost everyone does to realize what a possible future life as a monk could be. Novice monks do not have all the restrictions of adults and after studying they can play in the courtyard, watch TV or play video games.
