Santeria is an African diasporic religion that developed in Cuba during the late 19th century. It arose through a process of syncretism between the traditional Yoruba religion of West Africa, the Catholic form of Christianity, and Spiritism. There is no central authority in control of Santería and much diversity exists among practitioners, who are known as creyentes ("believers").

It is very easy to meet followers of this religion in Cuba, especially in Havana. They are dressed in white with flashy necklaces and bracelets.

La Santeria è una religione diasporica africana che si sviluppò a Cuba alla fine del XIX secolo. È sorto attraverso un processo di sincretismo tra la tradizionale religione yoruba dell'Africa occidentale, la forma cattolica del cristianesimo e lo spiritismo. Non esiste un'autorità centrale che controlli la Santeria ed esiste molta diversità tra i praticanti, noti come creyentes ("credenti").

È molto facile incontrare seguaci di questa religione a Cuba, specialmente all'Avana. Sono vestiti di bianco con collane e braccialetti appariscenti.
