Into the Sacred Current
Seated side by side on the blue boat, the two boatmen – hands firmly gripping the long wooden oars – steer with calm skill toward the spiritual heart of Prayagraj. Their faded jeans speak of days spent under the sun, ferrying pilgrims and visitors to the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga and the Yamuna, visible and majestic, merge with the Saraswati, the mythical river that flows unseen yet is felt by every devotee. Around them, other boats cut through the water, laden with the faithful.
On the distant shore, dotted with tents, temporary structures, and colorful flags, the air vibrates with chants, prayers, and ritual sounds. On this journey to the confluence, the two men are not merely rowers: they are silent guardians of a millennia-old pilgrimage, ferrymen to a place where water, faith, and myth merge into a single, eternal current of sacredness.
