A Silver Ribbon Through the Emerald Highlands: Tham Ma Pass

Located in Vietnam’s northernmost province of Ha Giang, the Tham Ma Pass is a spectacular winding road within the Dong Van Karst Plateau. It serves as the dramatic entrance to one of the most rugged and beautiful limestone landscapes in Southeast Asia.

This pass is famous for its nine iconic hairpin turns. Its name, Tham Ma, means "Horse Testing." Historically, locals used this steep climb to judge the strength of their horses; only those who reached the top with energy to spare were deemed worthy. Today, it remains a "bucket list" challenge for travelers navigating the legendary Ha Giang Loop.
